Colorado State Highway 12
SH 12 starts north of the town of La Veta off of US 160. It then heads south through La Veta, over Cucharas Pass, and into the town of Stonewall. In Stonewall, SH 12 heads east through Tercio, Segundo, and Primero (Third, Second, and First in spanish) before hitting Trinidad. In Trinidad, 12 curves through city streets, goes under I-25, then doubles back to its end at 25's exit 13A. 12 used to end when it went under 25 at Exit 14, but that exit was closed in the early 90's (?) due to safety concerns and 12 was extended to its current eastern terminus.
