Exit 141 - US 24 West/Cimmaron Street aerial picture
Okay, here's where things start to get interesting. This is an extremely subpar interchange in both directions. In order to keep the cost of the project down, the state decided not to redo this interchange. I-25 is already 3 lanes, but it's a tight 3 lanes. Don't break down here: it'll get messy! I'm hoping part of this project will take care of the massively short onramp to northbound I-25 at least. Pictures will be updated as events warrant.

Hella short onramp and acceleration lane. Most traffic then has to move over to lane 2 since lane 3 exits.

Going southbound, lane 3 is exit only. The offramp is short, and traffic sometimes backs up onto the interstate.

News has come down that this third lane will be exiting here starting next week. The third lane between Cimarron and Bijou in both directions as well as the southbound Bijou onramp will be closed to allow for the start of construction in this zone. This is expected to bring some serious delays to this stretch of the I.

Stuck in traffic due to a small fender bender, I get the chance to see that all the vegetation on the east side of the highway between Cimmaron and Bijou is gone.

A shot of the COSMIX sign. There's one of these here for NB and at Exit 150 for the SB lanes.

A few nights ago this section of the I was resurfaced both NB and SB.

The resurfacing only happened on the two through lanes in both directions.
