Cool things
Lookie the neat stuff I've found!
Aahhh, the holy grails of roadgeekdom. The random road-related things that roadgeeks love to come across and then brag to his cohorts about. This page is how I brag. :) The pics on this page are at their full size, so this page is optimized for broadband connections. All pictures are taken in Colorado Springs, CO, unless otherwise specified.
Colorado is now painting interstate shields on the roadways, joining a small but growing list of states that do this. This shot is on Spur-83 (N. Academy Blvd.) approaching I-25, obviously. If you look closely at the top pic, you can still see the markings placed on the asphalt showing where the shields are to go. This is a very recent install. The only other place I know of in the state that has the painted shields is at I-25's exit 184 in Castle Rock. US 85 rejoins the interstate there, and the shields can be seen when traveling EB on 85.
A shot of what the MUTCD-specified Yield line looks like. This is seen at the I-25 exit to S. Academy Blvd. These are seen at every offramp and onramp at this diamond interchange.
As I find more items, I'll fill the page! Check back often.
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with any of the orginizations listed within this site. I'm just a bored roadgeek with way too much time on his hands. All of the picts in this page are mine and mine alone unless otherwise noted. Remember, kids: stealing is bad, mmmm-k? I get quite pissy if things are taken without telling me. I don't like to be pissy. You won't like it either. If you want to link to this page, that's fine. Please shoot me an email beforehand so I can link to your page as well. K? Thanks. --Ryan
