Roadtrippin' Colorado Style

r-Vid

Through the looking glass that is my windshield

Looks like everyone else is doing video on their roads sites, so I thought it best to jump on the video bandwagon. And, before you ask, yes, I would jump off a bridge if my friends were doing it. Thanks, mom.

I've shot these videos in and around the Colorado Springs area. Most videos are in the WMV format, but that's only because I don't have that much web space available. So there. I've included the YouTube versions of each video, but if you don't want one with all the artifacts, I recommend clicking on the title of the video to download the snazziness. New videos will have this grey background, just like on my various trips page.

COSMIX Videos

Well, since I'm not doing the best of job updating my COSMIX pages, I thought it best to start off with video I've shot in the COSMIX Zone.

-->Northbound, August 23, 2006. (47MB WMV)
See the starts of the heavy lifting around the Nevada/Rockrimmon interchange and the definition of "Trafficus Jamus."

-->Northbound, February 27, 2007. (39MB WMV)
Hey! Where'd the Bijou Street exit go?

-->Northbound, September 7, 2007. (36MB WMV)
Well, the Nevada/Rockrimmon section is all but complete and the Bijou bridge is just about to reopen here.

-->Southbound, September 23, 2006. (47MB WMV)
It's all about the traffic, the bumps, and the cops cutting me off.

Roadtrip Videos

While out and about, when not using the camera to take picts, I get it set up to take video. Here's the result. As with the COSMIX section, most of the videos will be in WMV format.

-->Out and About 1. (47.5MB WMV)
Heading west from Colorado Springs on US 24, then turning north on SH 67 when the sun gets too bad.

-->A new State Highway! (71.1MB WMV)
In October 2007, CDOT did something they haven't done in twenty-some-odd years: create a new state highway. SH 21 is an eastern bypass of Colorado Springs, with grandiose intentions to connect with Interstate 25 on both sides of the metro area. Take a trip on the newly minted highway with me, and watch out for the EARTHQUAKE-CAM!

-->Glenwood Canyon (75.3MB WMV)
Come travel one of the most scenic drives on our nation's Interstate system: Glenwood Canyon. This drive takes I-70 throught he heart of a steep-walled canyon. Expanding the interstate to four lanes through here was a feat, and the end result is just brilliant. See for yourself!

More videos as they're taken, mixed, and uploaded.

All of the picts in this page are mine and mine alone unless otherwise noted. Remember, kids: stealing is bad, mmmm-k? I get quite pissy if things are taken without telling me. I don't like to be pissy. You won't like it either. If you want to link to this page, that's fine. Please shoot me an email beforehand so I can link to your page as well. K? Thanks. --Ryan
