Scenic Park free to the public
Garden of the Gods Park is a city-owned park on the western side of Colorado Springs. Since it's city-owned, there is no fee to go through the park. This is a major tourist destination (shops, photo ops, etc.) and a major locals destination (hiking, horseback riding, etc.) Since my current place of employment is on the southern edge of the park, I drive through on a pretty regular basis. I'll post pics as I can.
One scenic park
On the main road through the park approaching the main rock formations. The way things are framed by this rock cut is quite nice.
The road around the main rock formations is a one-way loop counter-clockwise. The east side of this loop takes you quite close to the rocks.
This shot was taken by a friend early in the morning from the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center parking lot. This is a phenominal picture, taken by a camera far greater than mine. I have the full sized, 2916x1050 image available as well.
More pics as I take 'em...
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with any of the orginizations listed within this site. I'm just a bored roadgeek with way too much time on his hands. All of the picts in this page are mine and mine alone unless otherwise noted. Remember, kids: stealing is bad, mmmm-k? I get quite pissy if things are taken without telling me. I don't like to be pissy. You won't like it either. If you want to link to this page, that's fine. Please shoot me an email beforehand so I can link to your page as well. K? Thanks. --Ryan
